Everybody knows that Bali is major tourism in Indonesia and most of international tourist prefer to go Bali than other place in Indonesia. But in 12th October 2002, the first bombing in Bali happened and it was effect Indonesia very badly. 202 people killed and many of them were foreign tourist. Before in 2001, 25 percents of Indonesia foreign exchanges earnings comes from Bali but after bombing the number of foreign tourist decline to 57 percents and in short time around 2.7 million tourism workers unemployed in Bali. Even one year after it was happen, tourism numbers in Bali still below of average and make Bali faced financial crisis.
Actually in early 2005 tourism in Bali start to beginning again but suddenly 2 October the second bomb happened. Even give more bad impact to tourism in Indonesia, foreign tourist and local tourist become scare to come to Bali. The number of tourism comes to Bali decline again.
What should Indonesia government do to anticipate or prevent this happen again? And what Indonesia government should do to increase number of tourism?

Good question. I can compare it to my latest article which is asking, how United States can attract the consumer trust through the collapsed market!!! That’s easy in the paper but since you need to change the culture and mind sets of the crowd it is tough to implement. In my idea what the government needs to do is to just consider on the advertisements and try to high light the security among the society by contributing the UN and antiterrorism groups under the supervision of UN. It requires lots of changes but the government must prioritize this strategy since the major proportion of their income is from tourism industry.
Well for starters the government should enforce the law their much more strongly for example at the security at the airports and for to increase the number of tourism tour in your country is by advertising it and giving great deals such as airfares ,transportation , hotels and etc.
What the government should do to prevent it? Why don't you go and ask the government? Relax, just kidding.
Because of this bali bomb, i don't think i wanna visit indonesia anymore. The government has the responsibilty of providing a safe place for tourists, and this is extremely vital for the tourism industry. Fighting and eradicating etremism would provide the best results, how they do it, is another issue.they have to take hard, startegic and compelling decisions to stop a repeat of the scenario.

I have no ideas about the bombed in bali effect tourism in Indonesia, I heard form my frends and he tall me Indonesia same time not very safe. In my opinion all the similar problem the government must pay attention on it.
Yes..! Nella it is a very good topic and that incident was very bad for the country. Bali is the most beautiful island and more tourist come there and government know that there have more enemies and they can attack any place at any time they should give more security in that place because in Indonesia one of the highest income is tourist that’s only in Bali. I can say that the Indonesian government is the responsible for the bomb blasted
Indonesia government should increase their security measures for people to enter the country and they can advertise or give promotion packages for tourist to visit. They can advertise by having “Cuti-Cuti Indonesia like what the Malaysia government is doing. For the security measures, they should check every tourist that enters the country.
Well,the incident of 2/10/05 has give a really bad hit to Indonesia tourism.However,the government should give confident to the foreign tourist and also local tourist by giving or providing tight security at the tourist area especially in Bali and all the Airports in Indonesia.Secondly,they also should be more alert with the social issues of the country to avoid the same incident to happen again.As a government we should take care of our country and also our people in the country.There should be a cause of all the bombing incident that happened.Therefore, the government should investigate and be responsible with the country's social issues.
I am not quite getting why Ee Lynn says that the government should increase the security measures for tourists coming in to Indonesia? I would say that the Country should increase its security measures for the locals, because the locals are the ones who affecting the tourism attractions and the tourism industry of Indonesia!!!
Yes, completely agree with Eric and Elynn that government should increase security measures within the country and come up with plans and new ideas to advertise about their tourism and also they should be able to ensure to tourists that Indonesia is safe to visit and they are ready to take complete responsibility regarding tourists security issues.
Well any country with no tight security for its tourism and corruptions will for sure have a big effect in the number of tourist that visit the country regurarly. Tourist want to go to a country that is safe from all kind of areas whether its bombings, conflicts, corruptions etc. We as human beings when we hear of a bombing that took place in a country that we wnted to visit we straight away cancle our visit because of fear.
Kenya a country known for its high tourism. Few month back had conflicts in it.This conflicts had a big effect in the number of tourist visiting Kenya. So now it will take time for the country to go back to its normal tourism rates.
Indonesia should just improve and tightenes its security by using latest technologies. This will make tourist feel more safe and so increase the number of tourism.
Bali is one of the famous tourist attractive place of Indonesia. Beauty of Bali is well recognized from all over the world and this place fascinated tourist very much. But bombing at Bali in 2002 and 2006 creates bad impact to the tourists. Government should protect this tourism place by providing more security for their tourists. If governments of Indonesia take this action I hope they can create good impression to the visitors and Bali will get more tourists.
I am also agree with Nimash.The goverment should come up with new planing and have to increase the security force and the goverment should provide all the Facility to the security force.
